The negotiations were carried between 6.400 delegates from the United States and 70 more countries, including 1.300 international tour operators and 500 media institutions that will ensure billions of dollars in incomes for the American economy.
Experts said, for tsnn.com, that it is most likely that after this event, the American tourism will generate, in the next three years over 3.5 billion dollars. 350 million dollars will come from Las Vegas, where the event took place this year, during June 8-12. Also, after this event, gambling provided 8 million dollars.
“After a free fall during the recession, the U.S. travel industry is making a comeback. The trade show is offering increasingly better results and practically, businesses of billions of dollars have been sealed with worldwide tour operators that will bring more and more foreign tourists in America,” said Roger Dow, CEO of U.S. Travel Association.
At this point, 17% of the Las Vegas visitors are foreigners, and in the next decade, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority wants to increase this percentage to 30%. This is because foreign visitors will stay longer in the city, generating about 7.6 billion dollars to the local economy, making it possible to create about 66.000 jobs.
The event organized by the U.S. Travel Association and is one of the top events in the world in terms of tourism and the largest generator of foreign tourists in America. Contrary to expectations, it is a normal tourism trade show. In just three days of pre-set appointments, more than 1,000 U.S. travel agencies and about 1,200 tourists from 70 countries sealed contracts that will generate billions of dollars for the American economy.
International Pow Wow will be hosted in Las Vegas in 2020 and it will be for the fifth time the event will be held in this city. So far, the Pow Wow trade show was held here in 1982, 1989, 2008 and 2013.
Next year, the event will take place in Chicago, just like in 1998.
