2020 will go down in the history of the Middle Eastnot only in light of the coronavirus pandemic, but also of the peace agreements that the state of Israel has signed with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

This marks the beginning of a new era that is being shaped, an era where conflict no longer represents an attainable solution.
Not many years ago, peace between Israel and the Arab nations was deemed as a far-fetched and impossible goal. Today, it is a reality and an open door for other Arab countries to establish diplomatic ties with the state of Israel. This victory can put an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict once and for all.
We, the Jewish people, have always prayed for peace. During our exile and for the last 72 years since we returned home.
In the face of extremism, peace is the only remedy, and we, Israelis, know far too well the price of war. That is why the circle of peace must be extended to other states. Furthermore, the new agreements strengthen the position of moderate forces in the face of the radicalism promoted and financed by Iran and its proxies in the region.
This moment also embodies a great opportunity for the Palestinians to return to the table of negotiations with Israel. We are ready to resume talks, and we perceive the Peace Plan developed by Trump Administration as a realistic vision for a lasting and attainable resolution between Israel and the Palestinians. We hope that this historic moment will be a guiding light for the other states in the region that wish for stability and prosperity. It is essential to focus on the values that unite us and not on the disagreements, and this is what the Abraham Accord is reflecting – our common aspirations to put the safety and well-being of our citizens at the center of all these efforts
Peace brings prosperity and creates bridges of friendship between our peoples. In fact, several cooperation agreements have been already initiated in the medical field in order to fight against coronavirus and we are confident that together we can find solutions to the problems that affect our region and beyond. We look forward to building a sustainable future for the present and next
generations. Israel and the United Arab Emirates are both young countries that have succeeded to develop dynamic and thriving economies in just a few decades. Both states share in the same entrepreneurial spirit, so the expansion of trade and commercial ties will be highly beneficial.
A few days ago, we celebrated the Jewish New Year, a year that finds us under the blessing of friendship, of hope and peace. We wish that the new agreements, which enjoy widespread support around the world, to be followed by many others. We hope that the world of our children will be one of tolerance and understanding between peoples.
