Catrinel Brumar, accused of illegally representing the interests of the Romanian State

Former ECHR government agent, Catrinel Brumar, will be prosecuted for usurpation of official function.

After Q Magazine made public the news that the appointment of the former government agent was never published in the Official Gazette, one of the ECHR applicants – on his own behalf – made a criminal complaint against Catrinel Brumar at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brasov Tribunal Court.

The accusation brought to Catrinel Brumar is “usurpation of official function, respectively offenses against authority.”

Catrinel Brumar, who took office during Ponta government, was changed by Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă in mid-February this year, after representing illegally for six years the interests of the Romanian State.

All ECHR applicants from the last six years who have not won in front of ECHR, as well as those found still in stage of proceedings, may file a criminal complaint, either physically – at the prosecutor’s office from their territory or trough the electronic e-mail address of the respective prosecutor’s office.

Based on art. 20 from Romanian Criminal Procedure Code, they can be civil parties, claiming material and moral damages.

ECHR applicants with cases under trial before the Court, may invoke before the European Court of Human Rights – the exception regarding lack of representative quality, of the romanian government agent, Catrinel Brumar.
